Mid-State Consultants, a national telecommunication, engineering and consultant firm based in Nephi, Utah, has selected Clearfield, Inc. as its sole fiber management supplier in the brownfield fiber to the home (FTTH) initiative in southern Michigan. The FTTH deployment is part of a 4,500-customer fiber conversion for D & P Communications, beginning in Tecumseh, Michigan and extending through two counties.
Occam Networks, Inc. announced that Northern Arkansas Telephone (Flippin, Arkansas) and Sledge Telephone (Sunflower, Mississippi) have purchased Occam’s BLC 6000 FTTP solutions to significantly upgrade their networks. The two service providers selected Occam due to the scalability and flexibility of Occam solutions.
Telecom service provider RCN Metro Optical Networks, a division of RCN Corp., has been selected by CAL Financial, a California developer of proprietary electronic trading systems, to provide carrier-class Ethernet transport services. RCN Metro will provide a carrier-class Ethernet connection from CAL Financial’s trading partner in New York City to a Chicago-based financial exchange.

Lightower Fiber Networks, a digital fiber network and broadband service provider in the northeast United States, has expanded its network with Juniper Networks’ MX Series Ethernet Services Routers. Juniper says that by extending the reach of its network and upgrading legacy infrastructure with the MX Series, Lightower now can flexibly deliver multiple types of services on a single converged infrastructure–leveraging Juniper’s JUNOS software–while at the same time improving operational efficiency, service reliability, and scale.
